Mark Harris
Mark Paul Harris, 46, was born June 17, 1962 in Williston N.D to Robert C. & Allene Meiers Harris. He left us on Tuesday June 24, 2008 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 3:00pm at Parkway Funeral Service Chapel, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm Friday at Parkway Funeral Service and continue from 9:00 am until the time of service Saturday.
He loved and lived life to the fullest and had many wonderful friends. He was an avid bowler and looked forward to his annual ski trips to Montana. He loved music, movies and was a motorcycle enthusiast.
Mark enjoyed a happy childhood and attended school in Williston North Dakota. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1978 and graduated from Williston High School in 1980. Mark graduated from the University of North Dakota at Williston with an Associate of Arts degree in 1986. He attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, in 1989 and made the National Dean’s List that same year. He was honored as one of the “Outstanding Young Men of America” in 1990 and all who knew him, know what an outstanding man he was and will miss his love, friendship and laughter.
In 1990, Mark began his career as a computer systems analyst at Boeing Commercial Aircraft Division in Renton, WA. Mark returned to North Dakota in 1995 and worked for the Information Technology Department of the State of North Dakota in Bismarck where he was employed at the time of his death. He was instrumental in the State’s successful Y2K transition and was a member of the Bismarck Elks Club.
Mark is survived by his father Robert Harris of Williston; sister and brother-in-law Lynda and Nick Voller of Williston; sister and brother-in-law LeAnn and Al Brunner of Soldotna, Alaska; brother Timothy Harris of Williston; twin brother and sister-in-law Mike Harris and Nancy Davis of Kalispell, Montana; uncle Duane Meiers of Billings, Montana; uncle Merle Meiers of Seattle, Washington; nephews Nicholas Voller and son Zane of Williston, Gabe Voller and his wife Melissa and son Aidan of Missoula, Montana, Shane Brunner of Mesa, Arizona, and niece Shannon Brunner of Lihue, Kauai; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
